According to the NYT:
Supreme Court: EPA, you must determine whether greenhouse gases are a danger to our health or the environment.
EPA: OK, I did a bunch of research and concluded that yes, greenhouse gases are a danger, and we need to be controlling them.
White House: If you try to send me that report, I'll ignore it.
EPA: (sends report)
White House: (does not open the email) La-la-la, I can't hear you!
EPA: We will reconsider, and talk instead about the legal and economic issues that would result were greenhouse gases hypothetically ever declared a pollutant.
House Oversight and Government Reform Committee: White House, turn over your documents that show how you pressured the EPA to conform to your strange reality.
White House: Executive Privilege, nah nah!

Separation of Powers is wonderful! It is all part of checks and balances...
Global Warming, caused by man, has yet to be proven by any means. In fact, the actual warming is a natural correction from the fluctiation between the last warming period and the last little ice age. There is no actual scientific data that proves man's involvement with the warming.
In fact, the hesitation of the Bush administration to envoke Global Warming legislation is keeping economy alive.
Don't get me wrong. I am an advocate for a clean environment, and I regularly advocate for such on my blog... however, I am against propganda used to strengthen government controls over individual repsonsiblity.
The answer is this: Instead of spending billions of dollars to stop that last straw from landing on the camel's back, why don't we try to spend less on determining the best way to remove some of the straw already there? That is, instead of stopping the natural cycle of the earth, let's adapt to ensure survival of humans in the wake of the change...
(ps, in 2007, the earth actually cooled - but you don't see that on the charts or hear that in the GW hype)
