Bad nights

When is an impossibly cute baby not so cute?

At 2:30 in the morning when she's wide awake and saying "Mama, up. up!" Well, seriously, she is still cute, because she's still cheerful. It would be worse if she were whining and crying and refusing to sleep. But it gets old after three nights in a row! Motherhood has trained me to get by on 3-5 hours of sleep, but I still don't like it. Moan groan gripe complain, moan groan gripe....

This weekend we're taking a trip to Columbia to visit Aunt Bunny at MSA. We'll meet up with Nana Cat, Pa-Pa, and Uncle Seth. It will be great, especially if she sleeps on the car trips and at night.

At the Science Center with Nana, she loved the dinosaurs. She has been stomping around like a dinosaur ever since.

oh, poor Jessi. I am very thankful I had babies that slept all night. I think it was because I was meaner than you and wouldn't get up. But, that was what grandmarti told me to do!! Ha. Well, actually she said to get up if they sounded like they were in pain. oh well, I guess they have forgiven me. It's funny, the different ages and things you deal with- you have a baby so it's the getting up thing. I have a teenage son, and it's the cutting-the-hair thing. Steve is going to strangle Nick if he doesn't cut his hair. Things are very tense! I wish he would just cut it and get it over with, because eventually he will have too.
grandmarti's other cure for sleeping all night was to give them a bath right before bedtime, and a lot of food. Stuff them and wash them. She can entertain herself if she wakes up in the bed at night. You have to sleep!!! Especially if you have ANOTHER baby. What would you live on,one hour of sleep a night? I think when we love our babies sometimes we forget about our own needs, but if you don't take care of yourself you're not as able to take care of your family.
well I love you!!! I will say some prayers tonight that she will sleeeeeeeeeep!!!!!

Your prayers must have worked, Aunt Cheri, because she did sleep quite well for the next several nights. It definitely helps her to stuff her with food, and she usually has a bath before bed too. Most nights I do get 4-6 hours of sleep.
