Last weekend, Aunt Cheri brought Evelyn a new toy: a dump truck. It's a really cool dump truck because it really dumps. It has working doors and lights and truck sounds, and a lever that lifts the bin up over the cab and dumps it in the back. Then you can turn a knob to compact the trash, and finally lift the big container on the back of the truck and flip a switch to open the door in the back and dump the trash back out. We all like it, including Evelyn. Her favorite parts are the noises and the little trash man, whom she carries around. He's her new boyfriend.
Yesterday, while I installed the carseat front-facing in Nana's car, Evelyn climbed around in the front seat. She sat in the drivers seat and tried to turn the wheel. When it wouldn't turn, she asked for help. She signed car and said "Ckah" and "rum rum." When we were finished installing the car seat, she banged on the car door to get in and pretend to drive some more.

hooray I am glad Evelyn likes her truck! (and the little man) When Nick was about three and we had that little red car, his favorite thing to do was sit in the driver's seat and "drive" the car as it sat parked on Center Street. Jessi might remember. We had to do this every morning, it was the highlight of his day. I would sit on the curb with the car door open and buckle him in. He would grab the steering wheel and pretend to drive, making the rumm rumm sounds etc. Sometimes I would take a book while I sat on the curb and read and he would "drive" for an hour. He still loves driving- well, except when having head on collisions.
We miss Evelyn!!!! and all the Kerrs.
