Eat, Mow

Yesterday evening Evelyn climbed onto her little stool to reach the catfood. When I walked into the room she was reaching across the buffet to grab a bite. "Eat," she said, "Meow. Eat." She knows that food is for the cat. Of course, that didn't stop her from chowing on it.

She has some confusion about letters. It started with a Q in the bathroom; she kept holding it up saying "Beeeee," and we'd say "Q," and she'd say, "Beeeeeeeee!" Nana reports that it is not just Q; all letters are B. Fridge magnets, stick-to-the-tub, even letters in books, they're all B. Point to them and say, "What's that, Evelyn?" and she responds, "Beee!"

Numbers are also B. "Two," we say, pointing. "Beee," she insists.

Last night on the way to the playground, she spotted a fellow mowing some grass. "Mow," she said, very clearly. She repeated this several times, then did a sign for grass. She complained when we moved out of sight, and asked for "more mow."
